Kielder Water Lodges

Kielder Water | Northumberland | United Kingdom

Boasting 27 miles of shoreline surrounded by pine forests and heather moorland, Kielder Water is a truly stunning location for an away from it all holiday. Whether you are seeking perfect peace and tranquility or the opportunity to enjoy a range of water and land based activities, events, art, cycling and wildlife, it awaits you here. Newcastle Airport is 80km away.

Kielder Water Lodges provides its guests with peaceful surroundings and a variety of activities for the family including crazy golf, synthetic ice-skating and fishing. Its inn and restaurant boast healthy views across the beautiful lake where the boats for hire drift here and there. In addition, there is a shop with off licence on site, sauna , indoor heated pool, games room and children's play area for guests to enjoy.

Each of the the outstanding Scandinavian-style lodges are tastefully furnished and enjoy private verandahs to make the most of the woodland countryside views. All have TV, DVD and video, payphone, a kitchen including microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Bed linen and duvets are provided and electricity is included. The Hadrian Comfort is a two bedroom lodge with one double and one twin plus a bath with over head shower and the Cheviot Classic is a three bedroom, two storey A-frame lodge which boasts one double and two twin rooms, a spa bath with overhead shower plus an additional cloakroom - ideal for larger families.

Relax and unwind in one of the most peaceful areas of the country when you stay in Northumberland. Walkers and beachcombers revel in the dramatic clifftop paths and long, sweeping sands of the coast, and the Northumberland National Park and Cheviot Hills are a nature lovers' paradise, while water sports enthusiasts of all kinds flock to the vast expanses of Kielder Water. The impressive castles and towers you'll find in the area speak of the county's turbulent history. Alnwick Castle, famously doubling as Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films, is particularly well preserved and also boasts some spectacular water gardens. Make time to explore Berwick's magnificent town walls, built in the first Elizabethan era, and if you cross the causeway to visit Holy Island's heritage centre you can, thanks to computer wizardry, 'turn the pages' of the beautifully illuminated Lindisfarne Gospels. Constructed by the Romans and now almost 2000 years old, Hadrian's Wall is still standing - surely a must see when enjoying holidays in Northumberland. And when you've relaxed enough, head to Newcastle and Gateshead's Metro Centre for buzzing nightlife and great shopping.
